Xbox Game Pass: August's First Wave of Games Revealed

Microsoft has announced the initial lineup of games joining Xbox Game Pass in August 2024. The first wave of titles includes a mix of classic remasters and a fresh, creative experience, all available for subscribers across PC, Xbox consoles, and Xbox Cloud Gaming (for Ultimate tier members).

Creatures of Ava takes the stage first, launching on Game Pass on 7th August. This enchanting adventure places players in the role of Vic, a young woman who uses her flute to soothe and tame wild creatures afflicted by a mysterious infection. Drawing comparisons to the popular "Palworld", but opting for a gentler approach, "Creatures of Ava" focuses on healing and compassion rather than combat.

Following closely behind on 8th August, the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy arrives on Game Pass. This collection, featuring remastered versions of the beloved original trilogy - "Crash Bandicoot", "Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back", and "Crash Bandicoot: Warped" - has received critical acclaim. IGN awarded the collection an 8/10, praising its ability to stand the test of time with its refined mechanics and "credible facelift."

Rounding out the August wave on the 15th is the Mafia: Definitive Edition, a faithful remake of the acclaimed 2002 crime drama. This reimagined classic transports players to the gritty world of 1930s America, immersing them in a compelling story and meticulously crafted world. IGN bestowed an 8/10 upon the "Definitive Edition", praising its "oozing" 1930s atmosphere and its success in reviving "the best story in the series."

While these additions bolster the Game Pass library, some titles will be departing the service on 15th August. A full list of games leaving the service will be announced at a later date.

Microsoft continues to strengthen its subscription service with a diverse range of games, ensuring Xbox Game Pass remains a compelling choice for gamers seeking value and variety. With the arrival of these titles, subscribers can look forward to engaging in nostalgic adventures, exploring a unique world of creature care, and delving into the depths of organised crime.
