Ubisoft Investigates Month-Long Ubisoft+ Glitch on Xbox
Ubisoft has confirmed it is "aware" of a technical issue impacting a segment of Xbox users, preventing them from accessing their Ubisoft+ subscriptions. Reports of the issue began circulating on social media a month ago, with affected players describing widespread difficulties in linking their subscriptions to their consoles.
A thread on the Ubisoft subreddit has garnered over 150 comments from frustrated players detailing their experiences. Many users reported the issue abruptly halting their access to Ubisoft+ games on Xbox, with no resolution despite reaching out to customer support.
"I'm dealing with the same thing. About a month ago, Ubi+ just all of a sudden stopped working on my Xbox and hasn't worked since," wrote one commenter. They shared their experience of engaging with Ubisoft support, describing unhelpful interactions and a lack of progress in resolving the issue. "It's been about 3 weeks. My ticket was closed and no more info has been provided, but it's still not working."
Another commenter lamented the lack of acknowledgement of the issue on Ubisoft's official website and voiced their concern about the company's lack of transparency regarding refunds for affected players. "They won't offer refunds for people who paid a year. I don't think they're really fixing this issue."
In a statement to Eurogamer, Ubisoft acknowledged the issue, stating that they are "aware of a technical issue affecting a small number of players' ability to link their Ubisoft+ subscription with Xbox and are investigating."
Affected players are urged to contact Ubisoft customer support for assistance. The company promises to provide updates to affected players as soon as possible.
In separate Ubisoft news, the upcoming release of Assassin's Creed Mirage marks a shift in development timelines for the long-running franchise. The latest entry in the series, launching in November, boasts a four-year development cycle, making it the longest development period for any Assassin's Creed game.
Despite the extended timeframe, Mirage's lead producer, Karl Onnée, maintains that four years is "the right balance to go from conception to production and get the feedback necessary to adapt" an Assassin's Creed game.
