Sonic's edgy counterpart gets his own comic book series, set to launch alongside the highly anticipated video game.

Sonic the Hedgehog, the blue blur beloved by gamers worldwide, is known for his lightning-fast speed and iconic status in pop culture. From blockbuster films to internet memes, the character has left an undeniable mark on the world. Now, his equally famous sidekick, Shadow the Hedgehog, is set to take centre stage in a brand-new manga series.

The news of the upcoming manga was announced by *Corocoro Comics*, a leading Japanese comic magazine, and is set to hit shelves in September. While details about the creative team and storyline remain under wraps, anticipation is high for this new chapter in Shadow's story.

The manga's arrival coincides with the highly anticipated release of *Sonic x Shadow Generations*, the next instalment in the Sonic franchise, scheduled for October 2024. This game will delve into Shadow's past, exploring his actions during the events of *Sonic Generations*. With the menacing Black Doom lurking in the shadows, Shadow will face a formidable challenge, leaving fans eager to see their favourite anti-hero in action.

This isn't the first foray into manga for the Sonic franchise. *Sonic the Hedgehog Story Comic

launched the series in 1991, followed by numerous titles over the years. More recently, *Sonic Superstars Start Book*, a one-shot special, was released in 2023. Now, Shadow is poised to take his place in the world of manga, giving fans a new perspective on the complex character.

With the release of *Sonic x Shadow Generations

looming, and the anticipation for the new manga building, Sonic fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming months. The game will be available on October 25th for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Windows.
