Gunfire Games, the developers behind the acclaimed co-op shooter *Remnant 2*, have announced their third and final DLC, titled *The Dark Horizon*. Originally slated for release within the first year following the game's launch, the DLC will now arrive in September 2024.
"Players will return to the necropolis world of NâErud, only to discover that a bizarre phenomenon has taken hold," Gunfire teased in a recent statement.
The delay, while disappointing for fans eager to dive into the final expansion, is attributed to the developers' commitment to delivering the best possible experience. "Weâve made the difficult decision to move back the release of our third DLC, so that we have more time to deliver you the best possible experience that you deserve," Gunfire explained.
The studio also revealed that *The Dark Horizon
will be the most expansive DLC yet for *Remnant 2*. "Not only have we packed this DLC full of even more of the Remnant greatness youâve come to expect, weâre also hard at work on a brand-new game mode that will be free for everyone that weâll reveal soon along with a new progression system."
Gunfire expressed their gratitude for the continued support of the *Remnant
community. "While weâre not happy about delaying this DLC release â one youâve been itching to jump into already â we feel very lucky to see your ongoing support and loyalty to the Remnant franchise. The past year has been nothing short of amazing, and weâre glad that Remnant 2 and its DLCs have brought you as much joy as it has brought us creating this world for you."
Despite the delay, Gunfire assures fans that more information about *The Dark Horizon
will be revealed soon.
*Remnant 2*, released in July 2023, has been a resounding success, garnering significant praise from both players and critics. The game sold over one million copies in its first week across Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and PC, surpassing *Diablo 4
as the best-selling game in the US for July. By the end of September 2023, *Remnant 2* had sold over two million units.
