Mortal Kombat 1: Chaos Reigns

Mortal Kombat 1: Chaos Reigns

Get ready for a year of chaos in *Mortal Kombat 1*! NetherRealm Studios has announced a new expansion, *Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns*, bringing six new characters, a revamped story, and the return of the iconic "Animality" finishing move.

The expansion, which drops on September 24th, will add the following fighters to the roster:

Cyrax: The classic cyborg ninja returns in a new, female human form, voiced by Enuka Okuma.

Sektor: Another familiar cyborg, Sektor also gets a female human makeover. Erika Ishii lends her voice to the character.

Noob Saibot: The shadowy assassin, voiced by Kaiji Tang (who also voices Sub-Zero/Bi-Han in the game), makes a triumphant comeback.

Terminator T-1000: Robert Patrick reprises his role as the iconic Terminator villain from *Terminator 2: Judgment Day*.

Ghostface: The menacing slasher from the *Scream* franchise joins the fight, voiced once again by Roger L. Jackson.

Conan the Barbarian: The legendary warrior, known for his strength and savagery, is ready to conquer the *Mortal Kombat* universe.

Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot will be available at launch, while the three guest fighters will be released at a later date.

The expansion also brings back the beloved "Animality" finishing move, first introduced in *Mortal Kombat 3*. These brutal finishers involve characters transforming into animals, unleashing devastating attacks on their opponents. NetherRealm showcased some examples, including Mileena turning into a praying mantis and Rain transforming into a puffer fish that explodes his foe.

*Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns

focuses on Havok, the masochistic menace who unleashed chaos on the NetherRealm at the end of the original game's story. Havok serves as the main antagonist in the expansion and seems responsible for reviving Sub-Zero as Noob Saibot.

The expansion will cost $49.99 on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, and $39.99 for the Nintendo Switch version. It's worth noting that *Kombat Pack 2

is not available as a standalone character bundle.

This expansion follows the release of *Kombat Pack 1*, which included six post-launch characters: Quan Chi, Ermac, Takeda, Omni-Man (from *Invincible*), Homelander (from *The Boys*), and Peacemaker (from DC). Additionally, six Kameo Fighters were released as DLC, including Mavado, Ferra, Tremor, Janet Cage, and Khameleon.

The *Mortal Kombat

series has a long history of bringing in guest characters, adding variety and excitement to the roster. Previous games have featured iconic figures like Kratos (from *God of War*), the Xenomorph (from *Alien*), and Jason Voorhees (from *Friday the 13th*).

With *Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns*, NetherRealm Studios continues to expand the world of *Mortal Kombat 1*, offering players a whole new year of content to enjoy.
