Goat Simulator Gets a Makeover: Remastered Edition Announced at gamescom 2024
The iconic and chaotic Goat Simulator, which captured the hearts of gamers back in 2014, is getting a fresh lick of paint with a remastered edition.
Goat Simulator famously allows players to unleash their inner goat, roaming freely through a sandbox world, wreaking havoc and causing all manner of mayhem. The remastered version promises to deliver a visually enhanced experience, boasting updated textures, new lighting, and lush foliage. However, developer Coffee Stain assures fans that the "beloved" glitches and bugs that defined the original will remain intact, a playful nod to the game's quirky origins.
The trailer for Goat Simulator Remastered playfully references these cherished bugs, showcasing the game's signature blend of absurdity and charm.
The remaster will also include all of the original game's DLC, with the addition of "Buck to School", previously exclusive to the mobile version. This means players can access a variety of additional content, from exploring the urban jungle of GoatVille and the coastal paradise of Goat City Bay to diving into the fantasy realm of Goat MMO and battling the zombie apocalypse in Goat Z.
Coffee Stain has also revamped the game's mutators, allowing players to choose their desired goat appearance from an in-game menu, eliminating the need to restart the game each time they wish to change their goaty avatar.
The official blurb for the game reads:
> "In Goat Simulator, step into the hooves of Pilgor, a rambunctious goat with a tendency for destruction and chaos. Jump, kick, and lick your way across GoatVille as you find creative ways to ruin NPCâs days. Players earn points for the destruction they cause, which are used to unlock new features and mutators to enhance the goaty gameplay."

The release of Goat Simulator Remastered coincides with the original game's 10th anniversary. What began as an April Fool's joke born from a game jam at Swedish studio Coffee Stain, has become a massive indie hit, selling millions of copies across PC, consoles, and mobile.
Goat Simulator Remastered is set to launch later in 2024 for PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store, as well as for Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5.
This announcement comes at a busy time for Coffee Stain, with the long-awaited 1.0 version of Satisfactory scheduled for release in September. The studio is currently owned by the controversial video game and entertainment company Embracer Group.
