Dragon Age: Vows & Vengeance Podcast Unveils Companions' Backstories Ahead of The Veilguard
Fans of BioWare's fantasy series, Dragon Age, are in for a treat with the upcoming eight-part narrative podcast, "Dragon Age: Vows & Vengeance," launching on 29 August 2024. This audio adventure promises to delve deeper into the backstories of the companions set to appear in the highly anticipated game, "Dragon Age: The Veilguard."
The podcast features a star-studded cast, including Mae Whitman, Bridgette Lundy-Paine, and Armen Taylor, lending their voices to exclusive characters. Players will also be treated to familiar voices as they journey alongside Harding (Ali Hillis), Davrin (Ike Amadi), Bellara (Jee Young Han), Neve (Jessica Clark), Taash (Jin Maley), Emmrich (Nick Boraine), Manfred (Matt Mercer), and Lucanis (Zach Mendez).
Each weekly episode will spotlight a different companion, offering a unique glimpse into their past and motivations. The release schedule is as follows:

The podcast's opening episode introduces Nadia, a retired thief unwittingly entangled with the Dread Wolf. Her love, Elio, is seemingly banished to the Fade, a realm of nightmares, leaving Nadia to team up with Drayden, a writer with a connection to the Fade. Together, they embark on a perilous quest to rescue Elio, aided by familiar faces from the world of Dragon Age.
"Dragon Age: The Veilguard" itself is set to release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on 31 October 2024. This long-awaited title was first announced in 2018 under the working title "Dragon Age: Dreadwolf," and has been in development ever since.
Over the years, fans have been treated to glimpses of the game's progress, including the confirmation of a playable alpha build in 2022 and the first official trailer earlier this year. The game's title was later changed to "Dragon Age: The Veilguard," shifting focus to the party of protagonists rather than the titular Dreadwolf.
The Veilguard has already garnered excitement with its extensive dialogue, exceeding 140,000 lines, customizable difficulty options, and a commitment to importing player choices from previous games. The game's voice cast has been revealed, showcasing a diverse and talented ensemble, with all companions being pansexual.
In September, IGN will unveil a "First" for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, offering fans a deeper dive into the game's world and characters. With the podcast setting the stage and the release date fast approaching, anticipation for "Dragon Age: The Veilguard" is at an all-time high.
