Dragon Age: The Veilguard Gets October Release Date
BioWare has finally confirmed that the highly anticipated next entry in the Dragon Age series, *Dragon Age: The Veilguard*, will launch on 31st October 2024. The announcement came alongside a dramatic release date trailer, showcasing Solas conducting a ritual that is interrupted by a fierce battle between the Veilguard and a group of corrupted Elf gods. The trailer also features a glimpse of some colossal dragons, hinting at the epic scale of the upcoming adventure.
Clocking in at nearly three minutes, the trailer offers a tantalising glimpse into the fantastical world that awaits players. We see a charming griffon, a terrifying tentacle monster, and a diverse array of stunning locations. The trailer also showcases a touch of the signature Dragon Age romance that has captivated fans for years.
Following the release date announcement, BioWare shared a roadmap outlining a series of reveals leading up to the game's launch. Next week, fans can expect a "high-level combat and PC spotlight," followed by "Companions Week" beginning on 26th August. September will bring a comprehensive IGN First feature, offering a deep dive into the game's many facets.
The journey to *The Veilguard*'s release has been a long one. Initially announced in 2018 under the title *Dragon Age: Dreadwolf*, the game underwent a name change in early 2024 to place greater emphasis on the player's party of protagonists rather than the returning character Solas.
Over the past year, we've learned several key details about the game. *The Veilguard
will boast an impressive 140,000 lines of dialogue, be natively available on Steam, offer customisable difficulty settings, and allow players to import choices made in previous Dragon Age games. We've also been introduced to the game's voice cast and learned that all companions will be pansexual.
With the release date confirmed, fans can now pre-order *Dragon Age: The Veilguard
in preparation for its highly anticipated arrival this Halloween.
