Dracula Bites Back: Castlevania Chapter Arrives in Dead by Daylight Later This Month
Prepare for a blood-curdling clash of worlds as the iconic gothic horror franchise Castlevania joins the asymmetrical multiplayer survival game Dead by Daylight. Following a tantalising glimpse during its anniversary stream earlier this year, Behaviour Interactive has officially confirmed the release date for the highly anticipated Castlevania chapter.
From August 27th, players can immerse themselves in the chilling atmosphere of Transylvania, facing off against the legendary vampire lord Dracula himself. The new chapter introduces Dracula as a fearsome new Killer, adding a chilling dimension to the game's roster. His unique ability lies in his ability to seamlessly switch between three fearsome forms: the powerful Vampire, the swift and silent Bat, and the ferocious Wolf.
Joining Dracula on the field of battle is a familiar face from the Castlevania universe: Trevor Belmont, the protagonist of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, takes his place as a new Survivor. While not known for his brute strength, Trevor boasts a unique set of skills that make him a valuable asset to any team. Behaviour Interactive promises that his "collaboration skills" will make him a force to be reckoned with.
The developers have been meticulous in their approach to incorporating Dracula's iconic powers into the game. "We wanted to create fluidity in the way players can have Dracula change between his different forms and have it feel seamless," explained Dave Richard, Creative Director of Dead by Daylight, in a press release. "When I first played Symphony of the Night â which is one of my favourite games of all time â having vampiric powers like these was absolutely amazing. Being able to put players in the shoes of The Dark Lord in Dead by Daylight was an alluring and unique opportunity for us."
