Diablo 4: Infernal Hordes Get a Boost, Free Legendary Loot Awaits

Blizzard is set to release a new update for Diablo 4, bringing significant buffs to the popular Infernal Hordes mode and showering players with free legendary items.

The update, patch 1.5.1, is scheduled to drop on Tuesday, 20 August, and is primarily focused on enhancing the endgame experience in the newly introduced Infernal Hordes mode. With two successful seasons already under its belt, Diablo 4 seems to be hitting its stride, solidifying its place among the best RPGs on PC and arriving just in time for the highly anticipated Vessel of Hatred expansion.

The update brings a range of improvements to the Infernal Hordes offerings. Elite options now provide +2 Burning Aether, a substantial increase from the previous +1, making them a more enticing choice compared to the current frontrunner, Hellborne. The Spoils of Gold chest has also received an upgrade, allowing players to use it multiple times per run, particularly helpful if they manage to accumulate more Burning Aether towards the end.

While Soulspires remain unchanged, the Burning Rain offering now awards 3-9 Burning Aether, a significant triple increase from its previous 1-3 reward. This makes it an even more compelling choice, especially when combined with the offering that summons Hellborne, as Blizzard addressed a bug where this offering was not spawning Hellborne as frequently as intended.

As a gesture of goodwill, Blizzard is gifting all players a cache filled with legendary items upon the patch's arrival. These items are guaranteed to have greater affixes, serving as compensation for a previous issue where players were not receiving such items as intended. With greater affixes often found on some of the most powerful drops in Diablo 4, this present could significantly bolster players' builds.

Beyond these gameplay changes, patch 1.5.1 introduces various UI and menu enhancements. Trade chat is now separated by world tier, enabling more efficient communication. Party leaders can now promote another member to take charge, offering greater flexibility within the group. Players will also receive an in-game notification whenever a new patch arrives, and clans can now change their names. The Rogue's Alchemist Control tempering option has also been reactivated after addressing previous issues.

The full patch notes include a substantial list of bug fixes. Notably, the tormented variant of Beast in Ice should now drop the correct number of Pincushioned Dolls for its advanced level. Additionally, a longstanding bug that caused character stats to display incorrectly in town has been addressed, ensuring that players see their true potential.

With Diablo 4 patch 1.5.1 set to launch on Tuesday, 20 August, players are eager to experience the new changes. Full details of the update can be found on Blizzard's website.
