Dead by Daylight: Knight Gets Major Buff, Dracula & Nemesis Get Improvements
The Knight, Dead by Daylight's Hungarian swordsman, has never been the most popular killer. Recent changes aimed at making him more viable, encouraging prolonged hunts with his summoned minions, have unfortunately backfired. Knight fans have expressed dissatisfaction with his current gameplay, particularly the shared cooldown on his minions, rendering them largely useless for extended periods.
However, the next Dead by Daylight patch is bringing some much-needed relief. In a recent community update, developer Behaviour Interactive unveiled significant tweaks to The Knight that are being met with positive reception.
The most notable change sees each of the Knight's three minions receive individual cooldowns. This allows players to summon the appropriate minion for specific situations rather than relying solely on the strongest option at all times. The currently summoned minion will be dismissed upon summoning another, a mechanic originally introduced as a bug in a previous public test build but now a permanent feature for The Knight.
Beyond the Knight, Dracula, the newest killer, is also receiving quality-of-life improvements. His wolf form is being sped up, addressing the frustration of watching survivors vanish at high speed while in this form. The Pounce attack is also getting a boost, with reduced attack cooldown and the ability to continue attacking even after colliding with a wall. Finally, the Hellfire attack's charge time and movement speed have been adjusted, significantly improving its viability.
The Resident Evil's Nemesis is also benefiting from the update. His Tentacle Strike ability will see a slight cooldown reduction, while its tier three ability will receive a substantial upgrade. The strike range is being increased to 6.5 meters from 6 meters, making it much more deadly in the right hands.
These changes will be implemented with the 8.2.0 update, expected to launch for Dead by Daylight later in August. The full developer update is available on Steam.
These improvements are sure to breathe new life into the Knight, offering players a more versatile and satisfying gameplay experience. Dracula and Nemesis are also seeing significant enhancements, making them more competitive and enjoyable to play. Dead by Daylight players can look forward to a more balanced and exciting game with the upcoming 8.2.0 update.
