Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the latest installment in the popular franchise, is officially hitting Xbox Game Pass tomorrow, July 24th.
As announced by Xbox Wire, the game will be available for Xbox Game Pass Console, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. This means that all aspects of the game, including the campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies mode, will be accessible for those with a Game Pass subscription.
This marks a significant milestone for the Call of Duty franchise as Modern Warfare 3 is the first title to be included on Xbox Game Pass at launch. While Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is also confirmed to be available day-one on Game Pass, Modern Warfare 3 holds the honor of being the first.
However, despite the excitement surrounding this release, reviews of the game have been mixed. IGN's review of the single-player campaign called it "underbaked, rehashed, and cobbled together from multiplayer parts," suggesting that it falls short of what a Call of Duty story mode should be.
The multiplayer mode, while praised for its smooth combat, was also criticized for being "reheated and reserved" from Modern Warfare 2 with "some extra maps and tweaks." The slower unlock progression was also noted as a deterrent for players.
The Zombies mode, dubbed "Operation Deadlock," blends Zombies with Warzone's DMZ mode. While this combination can offer exciting combat experiences, it requires significant grinding to unlock the full potential.
With the game launching tomorrow, players can now experience the entire Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 package on Xbox Game Pass.
