Black Ops 6 & Warzone Season 1: Launch Time, Updates & New Content

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which launched in late October, has already shattered records for concurrent players on Steam and Game Pass subscriptions. Now, the highly anticipated Season 1 update for both Black Ops 6 and Warzone is dropping today, bringing a host of new content and features.

Players have already enjoyed a double XP weekend, revisited the beloved Nuketown map, and familiarized themselves with the latest weapons. But the real excitement begins with the integration of Warzone into Black Ops 6, creating a unified Call of Duty experience.

Season 1 Launch Time

Like previous Call of Duty releases, Warzone Season 1 and Black Ops 6 Season 1 will launch simultaneously on Thursday, 14th November at 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). This translates to:

Central Standard Time (CST): 11:00 AM

Mountain Standard Time (MST): 10:00 AM

Pacific Standard Time (PST): 9:00 AM

Download Size & Preload

Be prepared for a sizeable download to experience the new content. PC players can preload the update beforehand, while console players will have access to the patch just a few hours before launch.

The update is substantial, weighing in at nearly 50GB in total. Black Ops 6 players will need to download a 35GB update, while Warzone players will have an additional 10GB patch. This brings the overall file size of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to a hefty 90GB.

What’s New in Warzone Season 1?

The most significant feature of Warzone Season 1 is the full integration with Black Ops 6. This means players can bring their Black Ops 6 loadouts, equipped with the latest weapons and perks, into Warzone battles. They can also unlock new progression tracks and camos that apply to both Warzone and Black Ops 6 multiplayer and zombies modes.

Warzone's newest Resurgence map, Area 99, takes inspiration from the iconic Nuketown map, featuring half-constructed houses and mannequin manufacturing facilities. The map is centered around a nuclear reactor, likely becoming a hot drop zone for players.

Classic Warzone maps are also making a comeback, with the original iteration of Urzikstan returning for Battle Royale and Plunder modes at launch. Rebirth Island, a popular Resurgence map, will return shortly after launch.

The unified Warzone experience combines a massive arsenal of 177 primary, secondary, and melee weapons, 11 tactical grenades, 10 lethal grenades, 12 killstreaks, and 17 field upgrades from Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, and Black Ops 6, allowing players to choose from the largest weapons selection ever seen in the franchise.

Black Ops 6 Season 1: New Maps, Modes & Weapons

While Warzone’s integration is a major highlight, Season 1 also brings exciting additions to Black Ops 6 itself:

Multiplayer:

Three new multiplayer maps at launch: Hideout, Heirloom, and Extraction.

Racket map added mid-season.

Holiday versions of Nuketown and Hacienda from Black Ops 4 will return during the season.

New 6v6 mode: Ransack, where players battle for gold bars and stash them back at their spawn.

Prop Hunt returns mid-season, with other limited-time modes promised later.

Ranked play launches, allowing players to compete in Control, Hardpoint, and Search and Destroy for exclusive operator skins based on earned SR.

Seven new weapons throughout the battle pass and seasonal events: Krig C assault rifle, Saug SMG, Maelstrom shotgun, AMR Mod 4 sniper rifle, Sirin 9mm special weapon, and cleaver and power drill melee weapons.

New buffer weight stock and Dragon's Breath underbarrel attachment for existing and new weapons.

New loadout additions:

Slot two perk to hide from enemy traps and mines.

Slot three perk that reveals enemies hit by your tactical and lethal grenades on the minimap.

A wildcard that allows players to carry a fourth scorestreak in core game modes.

A new Hand Cannon scorestreak granting players a temporary one-shot kill pistol.

Zombies:

New Directed Mode maps for Liberty Falls and Terminus, guiding players through the Easter eggs with a round cap of 15.

Citadelle des Morts, a new zombies map launching mid-season, continues the Dark Aether storyline with new Perk-A-Cola, enemies, and wonder weapons.

New field upgrade, ammo type, and three gobblegums available on all Black Ops 6 zombies maps.

The Hand Cannon scorestreak is available to build at in-game workbenches.

New Perk-A-Cola, field upgrade, and ammo type all have their own augment research trees with six augments to unlock.

The official Season 1 blog post promises more details on the new Zombies content to be released in December.
