Apple Extends AppleCare+ Renewal Window to 45 Days

Apple has increased the grace period for renewing AppleCare+ coverage after it expires, offering customers an additional 15 days to sign up for a new plan. Previously, customers had a 30-day window to extend their coverage, but this has now been extended to 45 days.

The change, which applies to a range of countries, including the UK, US, Australia, Canada, and many European nations, provides customers with more flexibility when it comes to extending their AppleCare+ protection. This extended window allows customers more time to decide whether to renew their coverage after the initial plan expires.

According to Apple's support documentation, customers have 45 days from the expiry of their existing AppleCare+ plan to enrol in a new one. These extended plans can be tailored to different durations, offering options for 24-month, 36-month, monthly, or annual renewals.

While the 45-day window applies to most major markets, there are exceptions. In China, the renewal period remains at 30 days.

The extended renewal period applies to upfront AppleCare+ plans for iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches, allowing users to opt for monthly or annual renewal plans. Mac owners can also extend their upfront AppleCare+ plans, with annual renewal options available.

Apple recommends that customers who wish to renew their expired AppleCare+ plans visit Apple's support website to check their device eligibility. It's important to note that Apple does not guarantee the renewal of AppleCare+ for all devices and does not proactively notify customers of expiring plans unless legally required.

To check the expiry date of their AppleCare+ plan, users can access the Settings app on their iPhone or iPad, the System Settings app on their Mac, or visit Apple's support website.

This extension offers customers greater peace of mind, allowing them more time to consider the benefits of extending their AppleCare+ protection and ensuring continued support for their Apple devices.
