West Ham Eye Dortmund Striker Fullkrug

West Ham United are actively pursuing a deal to bring German striker Niclas Fullkrug to the London Stadium. The Hammers have held talks with Borussia Dortmund over a potential transfer for the 31-year-old forward.

Fullkrug enjoyed a successful Euro 2024 campaign, scoring twice for Germany as they reached the quarter-finals. His impressive performance in the tournament has caught the eye of West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui, who is keen to bolster his attacking options.

The East London club are actively seeking to add firepower to their forward line and are currently in negotiations with multiple players, including Aston Villa's Colombian forward Jhon Duran.

Fullkrug had a productive season with Dortmund, bagging 16 goals in 46 appearances after joining from Werder Bremen in a £12.6 million deal last summer. He played a key role in Dortmund's run to the Champions League final, where they narrowly lost to Real Madrid.

Besides Fullkrug, West Ham are also reportedly interested in signing Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Hammers have already been busy in the transfer market this summer. They secured the services of Wolves captain Max Kilman for a fee of £40 million last month. They also added goalkeeper Wes Foderingham and Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme to their ranks.

With their ongoing pursuit of Fullkrug, West Ham are demonstrating their ambition to strengthen their squad and compete at the highest level. It remains to be seen if they can secure the signature of the German forward, but their efforts highlight their determination to build a formidable team for the upcoming season.
