Transfer Deadline Day: All You Need to Know (30 August)
The summer transfer window slams shut at 11pm on Friday, 30 August for the Premier League, English Football League and Scotland. This deadline has been brought forward to align with the transfer windows of European leagues.
When do other leagues close?
Across Europe, the Bundesliga window closes at 7pm, Ligue 1 at 10pm, La Liga at 10:59pm and Serie A at 11pm. However, the Saudi Pro League transfer window remains open until 7 September.
Can new signings play this weekend?
Under league regulations, new signings are eligible to play in the next Premier League match if the required paperwork is submitted by midday on the last working day before the fixture. This means any player signed after 12pm on deadline day would be ineligible to feature in this round of Premier League matches.
Where can I see confirmed transfers?
A dedicated page showcasing all completed transfer deals on deadline day can be found on the BBC Sport website.
When does the January transfer window open?
Clubs will be able to make transfers again from Wednesday, 1 January until Monday, 3 February at 11pm GMT. This deadline aligns with the transfer windows in Germany, Italy, Spain, and France.
