Sunderland AFC has revealed its third and final kit for the 2024/25 season, paying homage to the region's mining heritage with a design featuring the club's iconic script crest.
The Black Cats have collaborated with hummel to create a kit inspired by the rich mining history of Sunderland and County Durham. The striking design incorporates a deep blue base with a dusty blue hue, referencing the mining industry's colours and textures. A repeating mosaic pattern, inspired by the iconic mining wheel featured in the club's current crest, adds a unique touch to the jersey.
The third kit collection also includes a teal anthem jacket, a warm-up tee, a pre-match quarter-zip, and a black version of the popular goalkeeper kit.
Fans eager to get their hands on the new kit can visit the club's official store or website from 8am this Saturday, 17 August. Season ticket holders have been invited to an exclusive early-access event on Friday, showcasing the club's appreciation for their unwavering support.
The Sunderland spokesman said: "Completing a treble of modern classics, our 2024-25 third kit pays tribute to the rich mining heritage of the City of Sunderland and County Durham. The alternate matchday collection reimagines the iconic mining wheel from our current crest as a repeating mosaic pattern, with a deep blue design complemented by a dusty blue hue. Navy chevrons against a striking white trim complete the design, which is embossed by the revered SAFC script crest â a symbol of one of the defining eras in our storied history."
