Stuttgart Bolster Defence with Signing of Young Al-Dakhil

VfB Stuttgart have strengthened their defensive ranks with the acquisition of Ameen Al-Dakhil from Burnley FC. The 22-year-old centre-back has signed a contract with the Swabians until 2028, marking a significant investment in the club's future.

Al-Dakhil's move to Germany follows a successful spell in the English Premier League with Burnley. He made 29 appearances for the Clarets, showcasing his abilities on the biggest stage. His performances also earned him recognition at international level, with call-ups to the Belgian national team.

Stuttgart's sporting director, Fabian Wohlgemuth, expressed his confidence in Al-Dakhil's potential. "Ameen possesses the right attributes to become a key player in our defence," he said. "He has proven his quality in the Premier League after making the jump from the Belgian league, and his call-ups for Belgium speak for themselves."

Wohlgemuth highlighted Al-Dakhil's blend of experience and growth potential. "Despite his young age, Ameen has already gained valuable experience. However, he still has room to develop further," he continued. "We are thrilled to have secured a player of his calibre for the long term at VfB."

Al-Dakhil himself expressed his excitement at joining the Bundesliga outfit. "I'm absolutely delighted to be here and to become part of the VfB family," he said. "I can't wait to experience the atmosphere at the stadium and run out in front of these fantastic fans. I'm looking forward to the challenge of playing in the Bundesliga."

This signing marks a clear statement of intent from Stuttgart as they aim to build on their recent progress. Al-Dakhil's arrival adds depth and quality to the defensive line, potentially forming the foundation for future success in the Bundesliga.
