Shaymen Face Moors in Bank Holiday Clash
FC Halifax Town will welcome Solihull Moors to The Shay on Bank Holiday Monday for a 3pm kick-off.
The Shaymen returned from their trip south on Friday night with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Dagenham & Redbridge. Andrew Oluwabori's late equaliser cancelled out Josh Rees' first-half goal for the Daggers.
Town have played three home fixtures so far, securing a 2-1 victory over league promotion favourites Barnet, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Aldershot, and drawing 1-1 with Gateshead. The Shaymen's four goals have been scored by four different players: Jamie Cooke, Adam Adetoro, Adam Senior, and Andrew Oluwabori.
Despite their decent start, Town find themselves in 16th place in the table. Solihull, however, are two places below in 18th after four games. The Moors have secured a win and a draw at home, but have suffered two defeats on the road.
Their away form has seen them lose 3-2 to AFC Fylde on the opening day of the season, and more recently, a 2-1 defeat to Eastleigh last weekend. They have scored six goals in four games, with Bradley Stevenson leading the scoring charts with two goals, both coming from the bench late in the second half against Eastleigh and Braintree Town.
Last season, the two sides met in the play-off eliminator, with Solihull securing a 4-2 victory against Town, booking their place in the semi-finals. In the regular season, Town lost 3-1 at home to Solihull, with Alex Whitmore, Callum Maycock, and Jack Stevens putting them three goals up before Luke Summerfield scored a penalty for the Shaymen. At the Armco Arena, Josh Kelly's first-half goal was cancelled out by Jo Cumming's equaliser, earning the Shaymen a point.
