Olmo's Debut Winner Propels Barca to La Liga Victory

Dani Olmo marked his Barcelona debut with a winning goal, just hours after finally being registered for the club, as they came from behind to maintain their perfect start to the La Liga season.

Olmo rejoined Barca from RB Leipzig for a reported €60 million (£51 million) earlier this month but was initially ineligible to play due to the Spanish top-flight's stringent financial regulations. However, following the departures of Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City and Clement Lenglet to Atletico Madrid, the 26-year-old was finally cleared to feature against Rayo Vallecano.

The playmaker's impact was immediate, as he curled in a left-footed strike late in the game, capitalising on a superb pass from fellow Spanish Euro 2024 star Lamine Yamal.

The victory means Barcelona sit atop the La Liga table after three games, the only team to boast a 100% winning record.

Rayo Vallecano took the lead early on through Unai Lopez, holding onto their advantage until the hour mark when Pedri levelled the score with a fine finish following a neat one-two with Raphinha.

Olmo, who had previously been at Barcelona as a youth player but departed for Dinamo Zagreb at 16 without making a first-team appearance, stole the show with his sensational goal. His debut performance has undoubtedly ignited excitement amongst Barcelona supporters, eager to see the Spaniard flourish in the Blaugrana colours.
