Linfield Determined to Keep Healy Despite Raith Interest
Linfield chairman Roy McGivern has publicly stated the club's "determination" to retain manager David Healy despite a reported approach from Raith Rovers. Healy is understood to be the Scottish club's favoured candidate to replace Ian Murray, who was dismissed after just one game of the new Championship season.
Linfield confirmed on Friday that they had received an official approach from Raith, but McGivern's comments on social media on Saturday evening conveyed the club's intention to retain Healy's services.
"We remain determined to retain the services of our manager David Healy to drive us onto further success this season and beyond," McGivern affirmed.
Following Linfield's resounding 5-1 victory over Loughgall, Healy's assistant Ross Oliver echoed the sentiment, highlighting the manager's commitment to the club.
"As long as David Healy is here, he does the job and again, he loves the club and everyone knows what the club means to him and heâll continue to do the job," Oliver told BBC Sport NI. "His record speaks for itself, as I alluded to earlier, he loves the club and wants to be here."
Raith Rovers finished second in last season's Scottish Championship but fell short of promotion after losing in the play-offs. Healy has a year remaining on his contract at Windsor Park.
The news of Raith's interest in Healy has sparked speculation about the manager's future, with his current club seemingly determined to keep him. The outcome of these developments remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: David Healy is a highly sought-after manager.
