Irish Actor Stars in Manchester United's Slick Kit Launch Video

Barry Keoghan, the acclaimed Irish actor, takes centre stage in a new promotional campaign for Manchester United's latest kit launch.

The BAFTA award-winning star, known for his roles in films such as "The Banshees of Inisherin" and "Dunkirk", plays a leading role in the unveiling of the Red Devils' new strips ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Keoghan's family ties to the club run deep. His second cousin, Frank Stapleton, was a prominent figure at Old Trafford, donning the famous red shirt for a six-year period in the 1980s.

The 31-year-old actor has even admitted to harbouring dreams of a football career before finding fame in the acting world.

Manchester United and their main kit supplier, adidas, have a history of collaborating with the world of entertainment to create engaging promotional campaigns. Earlier this year, the club partnered with legendary Manchester band, the Stone Roses, for a unique clothing collection.

The club's previous marketing ventures have also included memorable collaborations with prominent music artists. In 2016, Paul Pogba's return to the club from Juventus was announced through a music video featuring UK rapper, Stormzy.

The Red Devils' new shirt sponsor, American tech brand Snapdragon, also opted for a celebrity-led announcement, recruiting former United legend Eric Cantona to formally announce their partnership.

The inclusion of Keoghan in the new kit launch campaign reflects Manchester United's ongoing effort to connect with a wider audience and further solidify their brand presence across different cultural spheres.
