Hibs Bolster Defence with Signing of Experienced Iredale

Hibernian FC have strengthened their defensive ranks with the signing of experienced centre-back Jack Iredale on a two-year contract. The 28-year-old joins from English League One side Bolton Wanderers, bringing with him a wealth of experience from over 250 career appearances.

Iredale's journey has taken him through the Scottish football landscape, with spells at Greenock Morton and Queen's Park, where he honed his skills and earned a reputation as a reliable and versatile defender. He also holds the honour of representing Australia at under-17 level.

Hibs manager David Gray expressed his delight at securing Iredale's services, highlighting the player's ability to add valuable depth and competition to the team's backline.

"Jack is an experienced centre-half and knows the Scottish game well from his time at Greenock Morton and Queen’s Park," Gray stated on the club's official website. "We've wanted to add a left-footed defender to the first team squad this window, and he adds extra flexibility and competition for places being comfortable at both centre-half and left-back. It's great to be able to welcome Jack to Hibs and we look forward to working with him."

Iredale's arrival is a welcome boost for Hibs, as they seek to challenge for honours in the upcoming season. His experience and versatility will be invaluable assets to the team, providing a strong option at both centre-back and left-back. With his arrival, the club hopes to solidify their defensive line and further enhance their prospects in the upcoming campaign.
