Gills Reunited: Bradley Dack Returns to MEMS Priestfield Stadium

Gillingham Football Club has officially announced the permanent signing of midfielder Bradley Dack. The 30-year-old returns to the Kent club for a second spell, having recently been released by Sunderland at the end of last season.

Dack's journey with the Gills began in 2012 when he completed a two-year scholarship programme at MEMS Priestfield Stadium. He quickly established himself in the first team, making 185 appearances and scoring 38 goals before securing a move to Blackburn Rovers in June 2017. During his time in Gillingham, Dack was a key player in the club's League 2 title victory in 2012-13.

After leaving Kent, Dack enjoyed success at Ewood Park, helping Blackburn achieve automatic promotion to the Championship in 2018. He was recognised for his contributions at both clubs, earning the prestigious "Player of the Year" award during his respective spells.

Dack's career took him to the Stadium of Light in July 2022, reuniting him with former Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray. He made 17 appearances for Sunderland, scoring a notable goal in a 5-0 victory over Southampton in September 2023.

Following his return to Gillingham, Dack has been assigned squad number 23. He expressed his excitement about the move, stating: "I can't wait to get going to be honest. It's nice to be back, I feel like my body is in the right place. I just need to get match fit, I want to score goals and affect Football matches."

Gillingham manager Mark Bonner echoed Dack's enthusiasm, highlighting the player's impressive pedigree and familiarity with the club. "He is a player with real pedigree and is really well known to supporters here," said Bonner. "There is a romance about the signing which is nice, but the reason for doing it is because he can help us win Football matches. When he is fit and available he gives one hell of an option. Hopefully he can help us achieve what we all want to do."

An interview with Dack will be available soon, offering further insights into his return to the Gills and his aspirations for the upcoming season.
