Fylde Face Oldham: Coasters Aim for Response at Boundary Park

AFC Fylde are back on the road for their second consecutive Vanarama National League fixture, with a trip to Boundary Park to face Oldham Athletic on Tuesday evening (kick-off 7:45pm).

Chris Beech's Coasters will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 4-2 defeat at Eastleigh on Saturday. They face an Oldham side brimming with confidence after securing maximum points from their opening two matches against Braintree Town and Wealdstone under the stewardship of manager Micky Mellon.

Mellon, a familiar face to many in the footballing world, took over at Oldham in October 2023. He boasts a wealth of experience, having managed over 700 games in his 15-year career, guiding Fleetwood Town and Tranmere Rovers to promotions from the fifth tier.

Interestingly, Mellon and Beech were team-mates at Blackpool under Sam Allardyce, where Mellon made 138 appearances for the Seasiders. He also enjoyed spells at Tranmere, Burnley, Kidderminster Harriers, Witton Albion, and Lancaster City before venturing into coaching. His managerial career includes successful stints at Fleetwood Town, Shrewsbury Town, and Tranmere Rovers, where he secured promotions to the Football League and League One respectively.

One player to keep an eye on for Oldham is midfielder Harry Charsley. The 27-year-old, who signed a two-year deal in July, joined the Latics after a successful spell at Port Vale, where he was part of the team that achieved promotion to League One via the play-offs. Charsley, a former Everton academy graduate, has also represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level.

AFC Fylde have been allocated 390 tickets in the Lower Paddock of the Main Stand at Boundary Park. Ticket prices are as follows:

Youth (14-17): Advance Price £7 | Matchday Price £10

Juniors (7-13): Advance Price £6 | Matchday Price £8

Disabled supporters pay the relevant price for their age and can claim a free carer ticket if they are in receipt of Disability Living Allowance (higher level carer or higher rate mobility) or the enhanced level of PIP. These can be arranged by calling the ticket office on 0161 785 5150.
