Forest's Deadline Day Scramble: Shock Inquiry for Bournemouth Keeper

As the transfer window draws to a close, Nottingham Forest are reportedly making a last-minute push to secure the services of Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto.

With the deadline looming at 11pm on Friday 30th August, Forest have already made nine signings this summer, although two of those have been loaned out to Olympiacos. Despite this activity, the club are still seeking to bolster Nuno Espírito Santo's squad as they aim to compete in the Premier League. Further arrivals are anticipated in the closing hours of the window.

Forest have already added Brazilian goalkeeper Carlos Miguel to their ranks this summer, with the keeper making his debut on Wednesday night in their Carabao Cup exit against Newcastle United.

However, the potential for Forest to bring in two goalkeepers this window has been discussed, with a reshuffle between the posts a possibility. Speculation about potential goalkeeper signings had subsided in recent weeks but has reportedly been reignited ahead of the deadline.

According to the Daily Mail's Window Watch, and corroborated by Sun journalist Alan Nixon, Forest have expressed interest in Bournemouth's Neto. A "shock" inquiry is said to have been made.

Miguel has been playing as understudy to Matz Sels since joining from Corinthians in July. He conceded a goal after just 18 seconds against Newcastle on his debut but went on to make several good saves. The second-round tie ended 1-1 after full-time but the Magpies ultimately triumphed 4-3 in a penalty shootout.

Any further goalkeeper signings at the City Ground could have repercussions for Matt Turner, the American who has been relegated down the pecking order with the arrival of Miguel. Turner is among the players whose future is uncertain as the transfer window nears its conclusion.
