Five Changes for Charlton's Carabao Cup Clash

Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones has made five alterations to his starting eleven for tonight's Carabao Cup first-round tie against Birmingham City at The Valley (kick-off 7.45pm BST).

Summer signing Luke Berry is set to make his full debut for the Addicks, with Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Tennai Watson, Thierry Small, and Daniel Kanu also gaining starting spots.

The quintet replace Alex Mitchell, Kayne Ramsay, Greg Docherty, Josh Edwards, and Gassan Ahadme, who all take their place on the bench.

Should Charlton continue with the 3-5-2 formation employed during their opening-day victory against Wigan Athletic, Rarmani Edmonds-Green will partner captain Lloyd Jones and Macaulay Gillesphey in defence, shielding goalkeeper Will Mannion.

Watson and Small are expected to operate as wing-backs, with Berry joining Conor Coventry and Karoy Anderson in Jones' three-man midfield.

Academy graduates Daniel Kanu and Tyreece Campbell will lead the attack.

Joining Alex Mitchell, Ramsay, Docherty, Edwards, and Ahadme on the bench are Ashley Maynard-Brewer, Zach Mitchell, Tayo Edun, and Chuks Aneke.
