Brighton's Ferguson & Estupinan: Set for Crawley Derby Return?
Brighton & Hove Albion manager, Fabian Hurzeler, has hinted at the possibility of striker Evan Ferguson and full-back Pervis Estupinan returning to action in tonight's local derby against Crawley Town.
The pair have been sidelined since sustaining ankle injuries, but have recently returned to training. Their involvement against Crawley, who compete in League Two, would offer them a valuable opportunity to regain match fitness.
Hurzeler has suggested that he might utilise the clash against Crawley as a chance to field players who have yet to feature in the Premier League this season. This could also include the club's recent high-profile signings.
Among those potentially in line for a debut are Georginio Rutter, who joined the Seagulls for a club-record £40 million fee, and Brajan Gruda, a £25 million arrival from Mainz earlier this month.
"There will be rotation, but I don't know how many and who," Hurzeler said. "We have to assess who is ready to play and try to determine the best approach for each individual to get them in shape for Premier League action as soon as possible."
With Brighton preparing for their upcoming Premier League campaign, the Crawley fixture provides a valuable testing ground for players returning from injury and those seeking to acclimatise to their new surroundings. It remains to be seen whether Ferguson and Estupinan will be deemed ready for action, but their inclusion would certainly add intrigue to the encounter.
