Marvel Rivals patch: Chrono-Rush event, skins, fixes

Patch timing and rollout

Marvel Rivals — developed by Marvel Games and NetEase Games — pushed a New Year patch on January 1, 2026 at 09:00 UTC. There is no server downtime: players can patch and play immediately.

Chrono-Rush event

What it is

The Chrono-Rush event is designed to help players finish the Luxury Battle Pass before the season ends. Matches award extra Chrono Tokens with no upper limit, letting active players accelerate progress.

Duration: January 1, 2026, 09:00 UTC to January 16, 2026, 09:00 UTC. The final page of the Luxury Battle Pass now offers an option to exchange Chrono Tokens for Accessory Points.

Store updates and bundles

New items arrive January 2, 2026 (02:00 UTC). Key additions include a Loki — Lady Loki bundle, a Lady Loki Emoji bundle, a Human Torch — Jack of Hearts bundle, and a "Take a Seat" emote combo.

Van Dyne's Grand Opening event and the Luna Snow — Cherry Delight bundle availability have been extended through January 16, 2026.

New animation updates are available for Star-Lord, Scarlet Witch, Namor, Adam Warlock, Wolverine, Blade, The Thing, Iron Fist, and Black Widow.

Traversal and emote optimizations

Traversal emotes were standardized: emotes now move only forward and you must change facing via camera control. Star-Lord's Wooden Whizbang traversal was specifically smoothed to remove odd "moonwalking" behavior.

Key fixes

Times Square countdowns no longer show incorrect timers. Angela's Assassin's Charge no longer places carried targets in abnormal locations. Rogue's Ultimate now avoids abnormal Ultimate Energy interactions with Winter Soldier. Emma Frost's Hellfire Protocol costume produced overly loud Psychic Spear hit sounds — that audio issue is resolved.

How to access and play

Marvel Rivals has launched globally and is free-to-play; all heroes are free to unlock. Update the game client and jump into matches to participate in Chrono-Rush and claim new store content.
