Samsung Adds Google Photos to AI TVs - Memories First

Samsung Brings Google Photos to AI TVs
Memories on TV

• Key takeaways:

  • Samsung will integrate Google Photos into its AI TV lineup, starting with the "Memories" experience in early 2026.
  • Memories will be exclusive to Samsung TVs for six months; Create with AI and Personalized Results follow in the second half of 2026.
  • Integration works via Google Account sign-in and ties into Samsung’s Vision AI Companion, Daily+ and Daily Board features.

What Samsung announced

Samsung Electronics said it is partnering with Google to bring Google Photos to Samsung AI TVs, aiming to turn personal photo libraries into a cinematic gallery in the living room. The first feature, Memories, will appear on large screens in early 2026.

Official statements

“Samsung TVs have always brought people together, and bringing Google Photos to the big screen makes that experience even more personal,” said Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at Samsung’s Visual Display business. Samsung framed the move as a way to help families rediscover moments together.

“We’re excited to bring Google Photos to Samsung TVs — helping people enjoy their favorite photos on a larger screen and reconnect with their memories in new ways,” added Shimrit Ben-Yair, Vice President, Google Photos and Google One.

How the integration will work

Users will sign in to Google Photos on supported Samsung TVs with a Google Account to surface backed-up photos and curated memories. Samsung says the photos will appear in a cinematic format and can surface through Daily+ and Daily Board for contextual viewing throughout the day.

Vision AI Companion and curated moments

Google Photos will expand Samsung’s Vision AI Companion capabilities, enabling curated stories organized by people, places and meaningful events. The integration aims to surface related photos and highlights automatically, making browsing simple and visually rich.

Features and rollout schedule

Memories (early 2026)

Memories will show curated stories and is planned to launch in March 2026, available exclusively on Samsung TVs for the first six months. Availability will vary by model and region and require backed-up photos and supported TV models.

Create with AI and Personalized Results (later in 2026)

Create with AI will introduce themed templates built on Google DeepMind’s Nano Banana image generation and editing model, plus Remix and Photo to Video features. Personalized Results will offer slideshows of related photos (e.g., ocean, hiking, Paris) in the second half of 2026.

Availability notes

Samsung says features will be available on 2026 TV models and via OS updates for in-market models, and individual features may vary by device and region. Some creative templates will be exclusive to Samsung TVs.
