• Plaud released the NotePin S, a compact AI notetaker with a physical record/highlight button and Apple Find My support. • NotePin S ships with clip, lanyard, magnetic pin and wristband; it offers 64GB storage, 20 hours continuous recording and two MEMS mics with ~9.8 ft range. • Plaud also launched a desktop meeting notetaker (Mac) that captures system audio, detects active meetings and uses AI to generate structured notes and transcripts. • The company says users get 300 minutes of free transcription per month; Plaud has sold more than 1.5 million devices to date.

What Plaud announced

Plaud unveiled two products ahead of CES: the NotePin S, an updated pin-style AI notetaker, and a desktop meeting notetaker app designed to record and transcribe online meetings.

NotePin S: compact hardware with a physical control

The NotePin S is a pocket-sized audio recorder and AI notetaker priced at $179. Unlike earlier models, it adds a physical button to start and stop recordings and to mark highlights during capture.

Each purchase includes a clip, lanyard, magnetic pin and a wristband so users can wear or attach the device in multiple ways. Plaud has added Apple Find My support to help locate lost units.

Under the hood the NotePin S retains familiar specs: 64GB of onboard storage, roughly 20 hours of continuous recording battery life, and two MEMS microphones that Plaud says capture clear audio up to about 9.8 feet. The company also provides 300 minutes of AI transcription per month for users at no charge.

How the NotePin S compares

Plaid positions the NotePin S as a smaller, more portable alternative to its Note Pro. It trades off some recording range and battery life for a reduced footprint aimed at users who are frequently on the move.

Desktop meeting notetaker: meeting capture across apps

Plaud’s new desktop client targets virtual meeting workflows and competitors like Granola, Fathom and Fireflies. The Mac app captures system audio to record meetings, detects when a meeting is active, and prompts users to capture the transcript.

AI-structured notes and multimodal inputs

Recorded audio is transcribed and organized into structured notes using Plaud’s AI. The desktop app brings multimodal notetaking features introduced earlier—users can attach images and typed notes alongside audio transcripts to create richer meeting records.

Who should care

Users who juggle both in-person and virtual meetings may find value in combining Plaud’s wearable recorder with a desktop client that captures remote calls. Teams seeking automated meeting summaries and searchable transcripts are the primary target.

Context and availability

Plaud says the NotePin S is its fourth device and follows initial pin launches in 2024 and the Note Pro in 2025. The announcements arrive ahead of CES in Las Vegas; the company reports more than 1.5 million devices sold to date.
