A new era for HyperX

HP announced at CES 2026 in Las Vegas that it is consolidating its OMEN and HyperX gaming businesses under the single HyperX brand. The move positions HyperX as HP’s flagship gaming ecosystem covering PCs, displays, peripherals, and software.

"Gamers deserve a seamless experience that matches their passion," said Josephine Tan, Senior Vice President and Division President of Personal Systems Gaming Solutions at HP Inc. The company said the consolidation aims to accelerate performance, personalization, and creative tools for players.

HyperX OMEN MAX 16

The HyperX OMEN MAX 16 is billed as a top-tier gaming laptop focused on raw performance and sustained thermals. HP highlights a 300W Total Platform Power target, enabled by new Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors, next-gen AMD Ryzen AI options, and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU.

Specs and design highlights

The laptop introduces an upgraded OMEN Tempest Cooling Pro system with a third fan and Fan Cleaner technology to maintain cooling efficiency in long sessions. Input responsiveness is emphasized via an industry-leading high-polling-rate keyboard said to poll up to four times faster than earlier models.

Visuals are handled by a 16-inch OLED WQXGA display with a 240Hz refresh rate and 500 nits peak luminance. OMEN AI will provide one-click FPS and system optimizations that adjust OS, hardware, and game settings automatically.

HyperX OMEN OLED 34

The HyperX OMEN OLED 34 monitor targets players and creators with a next-generation V-stripe QD-OLED panel. It offers 21:9 WQHD resolution, a 360Hz refresh rate, and an ultra-fast 0.03ms response time for competitive play and content work.

Key features include HyperX ProLuma color tools, 100W USB-C power delivery, a built-in KVM switch, a customizable 3D-printable headphone hook, and HyperX OLED CoreProtect with a three-year limited warranty against burn-in.

Peripherals and neurotech

HP also showed the HyperX Clutch Tachi, an Xbox-licensed arcade controller built for precision and speed. Separately, HyperX is co-developing an EEG headset with Neurable that uses neurotechnology and AI to interpret brain activity to help players improve focus and accuracy.

Availability

HP says the HyperX OMEN MAX 16, OMEN OLED 34, and Clutch Tachi will be available on HP.com in Spring 2026, with pricing announced closer to launch.
