William Tyler Takes Flight with Ethereal "Flight Final"
Nashville-based acoustic guitar virtuoso William Tyler has released a captivating new single, "Flight Final," a departure from his usual fingerpicked acoustic style. The track sees Tyler embracing a more electronic soundscape, combining his guitar with shimmering, bleeping synths.
"Flight Final" is a stark contrast to much of Tyler's solo work, both in its sonic texture and its concise length. However, the song still retains his signature ability to create spellbinding instrumental pieces.
Tyler recorded "Flight Final" using an iPhone and a vintage tape machine found in his grandfather's office. The result is a solitary, pulsing experiment, leaving listeners eager for more glimpses into Tyler's future sonic explorations.
The new single follows the release of Tyler's critically acclaimed album "Secret Stratosphere," recorded with his backing band, the Impossible Truth. He also collaborated with Kieran Hebden, better known as Four Tet, on the extended, atmospheric tracks "Darkness, Darkness" and "No Services."
"Flight Final" is a testament to Tyler's constant evolution as an artist, showcasing his willingness to experiment and push the boundaries of his musical palette. The track is available now on Psychic Hotline.
