VMAs Line-Up Heats Up: Halsey, Lisa, Kravitz & More Set to Perform

The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) is set to be a star-studded event, with a fresh wave of performers announced for the 11 September ceremony in New York City.

Adding to the already impressive line-up, MTV has revealed that Halsey, Benson Boone, Lisa, and Lenny Kravitz will take to the stage at the UBS Arena.

Boone has enjoyed a meteoric rise in 2023, driven by his hit single "Beautiful Things." His success has earned him three VMA nominations, including nods for Best New Artist and Best Alternative. Meanwhile, Halsey, who made a triumphant return with "Lucky" this summer, is in the running for Artist of the Year, a prestigious accolade she previously won in 2019 for her collaboration with BTS on "Boy With Luv." The multi-talented artist last graced the VMA stage in 2016, performing "Closer" alongside The Chainsmokers.

Lisa, the highly celebrated K-pop star, will make her solo VMA debut following the release of "New Woman" with Rosalía last week and the earlier summer drop of "Rockstar." She achieved history in 2022 when she became the first solo K-pop artist to win a Moon Person with her single "Lalisa." Notably, Blackpink, her group, performed "Pink Venom" at the VMAs that year.

Lenny Kravitz is set to make a highly anticipated return to the VMAs after a 25-year hiatus. His last performance at the awards show took place in 1993, where he delivered a captivating rendition of "Are You Gonna Go My Way" alongside John Paul Jones. He then rejoined the VMAs in 1998, performing "Ray of Light" with Madonna. While the details of Kravitz's upcoming performance remain under wraps, his nomination for Best Rock for the single "Human" suggests a powerful and electrifying set.

This exciting new wave of performers joins a line-up that already boasts a diverse and compelling array of talent. Last week, the VMAs announced that Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Sabrina Carpenter, and Rauw Alejandro would be taking to the stage. Adding even more star power, pop icon Katy Perry will be receiving the prestigious Video Vanguard Award and will perform a medley of her biggest hits.

Earlier this month, the VMAs revealed their nominees, with Taylor Swift leading the pack with a staggering ten nominations. Many of these nominations are for "Fortnight," her collaboration with Post Malone, including a nod for Video of the Year. Post Malone secured nine nominations, while Ariana Grande, Eminem, and Carpenter each received six. The Artist of the Year category is fiercely competitive, with Swift, Grande, Eminem, Carpenter, Bad Bunny, and SZA vying for the coveted award.

As the VMAs approach, the anticipation continues to build for what promises to be a night of unforgettable performances and award-winning moments.
