Vernon Kay's "Smedium" T-Shirt Steals the Show at Wimbledon

Vernon Kay, the 50-year-old TV presenter, found himself the center of attention at Wimbledon, but not for his sporting knowledge. While attending the men's final with his daughter Phoebe, Kay's choice of attire sparked a social media frenzy.

Kay, known for his charming demeanor, shared a picture of himself outside Centre Court on Instagram, captioning it, "Wimbledon final was so good!! C'mon." However, fans were more interested in his fitted T-shirt than the sporting event itself.

Comments flooded in, with many playfully teasing Kay about the tight-fitting top, with remarks like "Is that a padded T-shirt?" and "You've got your smedium Tshirt on."

Not one to shy away from lighthearted banter, Kay addressed the comments during his BBC Radio 2 show the following day. With a chuckle, he admitted, "A lot of people did comment on the smedium T-shirt. Someone put 'Are you wearing a padded T-shirt there Vern?' And I went, 'Yes, padded full of man.'"

Beyond the playful comments, Kay enjoyed a successful day at Wimbledon, attending the highly anticipated final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. He and his daughter Phoebe, who looked stunning in a white mini dress and PVC mules, watched the intense match unfold.

Phoebe, the eldest of Kay's two daughters with his wife Tess Daly, is gradually stepping into the public eye. After turning 18, she made her red carpet debut with her father at the John Wick Chapter 4 premiere last March.

Kay and Daly have consciously chosen to shield their daughters from the pressures of celebrity. They emphasize the importance of independent careers and personal development, believing that children should "find themselves" and not be handed a life on a silver platter.

While Kay's T-shirt may have stolen the spotlight, his appearance at Wimbledon was another reminder of his enduring popularity. And his witty response to the social media jokes further cemented his likable persona.
