TNA Champ Nemeth Open to NXT Return, But Not a Priority

Former WWE Champion Nic Nemeth, currently known as Dolph Ziggler in the independent scene and as a key figure in TNA, has addressed the possibility of returning to NXT as part of the ongoing crossover between the two companies.

While speaking to Comicbook ahead of TNA Slammiversary, Nemeth indicated that he's open to the idea but doesn't see it as a top priority. He explained, "I feel like that's more for some up and comers and some people with some unfinished business. I think after 19 years, there's no unfinished business there at NXT for me."

Nemeth highlighted the value of the NXT crossover for developing talent, stating, "I think it is for making our long-term talent, whether they're homegrown or not, getting their faces there and not only helping them with their numbers, but also getting more exposure for us when they come back to us."

He acknowledged his previous success in NXT, having held the championship, and believes a return might not offer anything new. "I was already NXT champion. If I show up there, what am I going to do? Not be champion. I'm like, 'oh, cool.' I did something that I didn't already do," he said.

Instead, Nemeth believes the crossover opportunity is better suited for other TNA stars, like Joe Hendry, Jordynne Grace, and Moose, stating, "I think Joe Hendry, Jordynne Grace, even Moose. That's awesome. I love that. Who knows who's going to show up? I like when you don't know. Because there's so few surprises in wrestling and when they're big, they're extra special when you don't know they're going to happen."

He expressed his appreciation for the unpredictability of the crossover, comparing it to a cliffhanger, "You got to watch next week to see what's happening. And I really hope what a special time right now in the business, when everybody's kind of crushing it, every company independence are selling out arenas."

Nemeth is set to compete for the TNA World Championship in a multi-man elimination match at Slammiversary, facing off against Hendry, Josh Alexander, Moose, and others. While a return to NXT may not be on the immediate horizon for Nemeth, the possibility remains, adding another layer of intrigue to the ongoing TNA and NXT crossover.
