This Morning Welcomes Newest Member: Baby Ruby Makes Debut!

This Morning viewers were treated to a special surprise during the Bank Holiday broadcast, as presenter Sian Welby introduced her newborn daughter, Ruby, to the nation. The little one, who Sian shares with partner Jake Beckett, was previously unveiled to the world on Instagram, with adorable snaps of her wearing a personalised jumper.

In her personal life updates, Sian shared heartwarming pictures of her cuddling Ruby alongside the caption "Our little Ruby." She humorously kicked off Monday's This Morning by remarking that she would have been pushing the pram in the park instead of lounging in bed if not for her hosting duties.

Co-host Craig Doyle was visibly smitten as cameras caught Jake cradling baby Ruby. Later, show guest Gyles Brandreth praised Sian's appearance, commenting that she looked stunning. Doyle warmly welcomed Ruby on-air, declaring: "You have brought along a very special guest. The newest, tiniest, cutest member of the This Morning family. The nation curls up with the cuteness."

Sian, clearly overjoyed, shared: "Little Ruby, it's so sweet to have her with me today because I was quite nervous about leaving her." Jake added lightheartedly: "She did a big poo before we left," prompting Sian to react with a playful "Oh, great." With good cheer, Craig remarked: "I'm not going to say what I was going to say. We are all nervous, you know."

Sian's Instagram updates regularly give her followers glimpses into the joys and challenges of parenthood. Earlier in August, she shared a candid snap of her hectic morning routine, captioned: "The reality of my morning: I was so excited to be live on @capitalofficial breakfast at 8am to announce that I will be back on the show September 2nd, however to make that happen I had to start at 6am preparing for it!"

With humour and relatability, she detailed her multi-tasking feats: "From rocking Ruby with my foot whilst I ate my cereal, to sterilising bottles in the microwave whilst I dashed for a wee, it was a mission!" She amusingly recounted the balancing act of motherhood and work commitments: "At one point I was doing my mascara with one hand, whilst holding a bottle in another - feeding Ruby moments before going live so she wouldn't cry while I was on air!"

Bringing levity to the morning chaos, she added: "Long story short, in the rush of finding a clean top to wear and changing another wet nappy I didn't have time to put any trousers on and so this is me, live on FaceTime, to the nation...in my pants."

Previously in February, Sian delighted fans with her pregnancy announcement: "Being serious guys, I've got a bit of an announcement for you... I'm pregnant." The broadcaster told Roman Kemp, who left Capital Breakfast earlier this year, that she didn't know how she "managed to keep it from you for so long."

She also light-heartedly discussed the pretense of drinking: "The stress I've gone through trying to pretend... to be drinking." ITV joined the chorus of well-wishers with a heartfelt statement: "huge congratulations on the birth of their baby girl," offering affectionate sentiments: "Sending all of our love from everyone here at This Morning, and we can't wait to meet her!"
