This Morning Takes It Outside: Dermot and Alison Enjoy the Sunshine

Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond took their hosting duties outside on Friday's This Morning, making the most of the sunny weather. Joining them were guests Gyles Brandreth and Isla Traquair as they tackled the day's news and hot topics.

The atmosphere was light and playful, with Dermot injecting humor by pretending to leave the set, leaving his colleagues in stitches. His nonchalant walk back to the sofa only added to the amusement.

The conversation turned to a recent news story about a new 250 Euro penalty for those who take advantage of sun loungers while on holiday.

Alison then shared a survey finding that revealed a third of workers use toilet breaks for some quiet time. "I actually do this quite often," confessed Alison with a chuckle, "You know when you want a bit of a break. There is a new survey out and it has found that a third of employees visit the loo just to take a little breather."

Dermot, understanding her sentiment, prompted her to continue. "You know when everyone is doing your head in, you go in the toilet, sit on the toilet for a bit...and you know, just chill out."

However, before Alison could finish her point, Dermot stood up and walked away from the set.

"Dermot has gone," Alison observed, as laughter erupted from Isla.

Dermot's attempt to enter the studio doors and failing only added to the hilarity, with Alison quipping, "He tried."

In another segment, Dermot paused to appreciate their outdoor setting, interrupting Alison with a heartfelt comment.

"Honestly, I am just going to take a moment, I hope you don't mind," he said.

"I don't mind," Alison replied, as Dermot continued, "Have we got a wide shot, please? If someone had told me as a kid, right? This is so iconic because so much TV has happened from here.

"And if someone told me as a kid I'd be sat outside presenting with one of my best buddies 30 years down the line."

"I was a runner and I used to get the train," he pointed out before adding, "I used to dream about working here."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
