The Saturdays Reunion: Hope For A Comeback?

The much-loved noughties girl group, The Saturdays, have sent fans into a frenzy with a recent reunion, albeit a rather informal one. While an official comeback appears unlikely, the recent get-together of Una Healy and Vanessa White has reignited hopes for a full-blown return.

Between 2007 and 2014, The Saturdays enjoyed immense popularity, achieving twelve UK top ten singles and releasing four studio albums. However, the group went on hiatus ten years ago, with a formal reunion seemingly off the cards.

Rochelle Humes, who recently confessed she "highly doubts" a reunion will happen anytime soon, admitted that coordinating schedules for all five members is a logistical nightmare. Despite this, she reassured fans that the group stays in touch and their WhatsApp group is a constant buzz with plans for a social gathering, albeit one that rarely materialises.

The recent reunion of Una and Vanessa, marking their first encounter in seven years, has nevertheless stirred excitement among fans. Una shared a photograph of the two on Instagram, expressing her joy at catching up with her former bandmate. Vanessa reciprocated the sentiment, stating that she couldn't believe it had been so long since they last saw each other.

The picture triggered an outpouring of excitement from fans, with many pleading for a full-fledged comeback. While Rochelle's reservations remain, the reunion does provide a sliver of hope for those eagerly awaiting a return of the pop group.

Since their hiatus, the members of The Saturdays have each carved out successful individual careers. Vanessa and Una continued to pursue music, releasing solo projects. Vanessa also appeared on the reality show "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" in 2017.

Rochelle has established herself as a successful presenter, becoming a regular fixture on the daytime television programme "This Morning". Frankie, meanwhile, joined the "Loose Women" panel in 2021, while Mollie hosts a BBC Radio 1 show alongside Matt Edmondson.

The recent get-together of Una and Vanessa may just be a casual catch-up, but for fans, it serves as a reminder of the group's enduring popularity. While an official reunion remains uncertain, the possibility remains, leaving their devoted fanbase with a glimmer of hope for a much-anticipated comeback.
