The Grand Tour Bids Farewell: Final Zimbabwe Adventure Set for September

Fans of the popular motoring show "The Grand Tour" are gearing up for a bittersweet send-off as the final episode, titled "The Grand Tour: One for the Road", is set to premiere on 13 September on Amazon Prime Video.

Producer Andy Wilman, a familiar face to viewers, revealed the release date and a first-look image at the Edinburgh TV Festival. The episode marks the conclusion of the long-running series, bringing to a close the adventures of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May.

In this final outing, the trio embark on a nostalgic road trip through Zimbabwe, taking on the challenge in three cars they have always desired: a Lancia Montecarlo, a Ford Capri 3-litre, and a Triumph Stag. The synopsis promises a stunning journey through diverse landscapes, culminating in an emotional ending on an unexpected island.

"The Grand Tour" first hit screens in 2016, reuniting the trio after their departure from the BBC's "Top Gear", a show Clarkson had revived in 2002. Following Clarkson's departure from "Top Gear", Hammond and May soon followed, setting the stage for their new venture.

The trio's move to Amazon Prime allowed them to continue their beloved motoring adventures on "The Grand Tour". Reflecting on their decades-long journey in a podcast earlier this summer, James May remarked, "We've done it for nearly 22 years – a lot longer than we thought we would. It's quite remarkable."

As "The Grand Tour" draws to a close, fans can expect a fitting finale that encapsulates the show's signature blend of humour, camaraderie, and breathtaking automotive adventures. The final episode promises a fitting farewell to the trio's journey, leaving viewers with a sense of nostalgia and gratitude for the years of entertainment they have provided.
