Super Bowl Star Travis Kelce to Tee Off in 'Happy Gilmore 2'

Super Bowl champion and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is set to make his big-screen debut with a cameo appearance in the highly anticipated sequel to the cult classic, "Happy Gilmore".

Kelce's cameo was revealed by Adam Sandler, who will reprise his role as the hot-tempered hockey player-turned-golfer, Happy Gilmore, in the film. During a Tuesday night appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon", Sandler confirmed the news, stating that Kelce "mentioned it, so we have a nice something for Travis."

"He’s gonna come by. He’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life," Sandler said of the Super Bowl champion. "What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud, and he’s so funny."

According to reports, filming for the sequel is expected to commence in the coming weeks and will include scenes featuring Kelce alongside several professional golfers in New Jersey.

The news comes just months after Netflix announced in May that Sandler would be returning to his iconic role in "Happy Gilmore 2." The original film, released in 1996, has become a favourite among Sandler fans and has achieved cult status in the golf community. The film is also known for its memorable cameo from longtime "The Price Is Right" host Bob Barker.

Earlier this year, Sandler confirmed the "Happy Gilmore" sequel was in development. Christopher McDonald, who played Happy's nemesis Shooter McGavin in the original, revealed the project in March during an interview with 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland. During an appearance on the "Dan Patrick Show" in April, Sandler confirmed the news, telling McDonald that "we're working on some stuff" for "Happy Gilmore 2", but asked him to keep it under wraps.

With Kelce joining the cast, "Happy Gilmore 2" promises to be a fun-filled and star-studded affair that will surely draw crowds of both sports and comedy fans. The film is expected to continue the story of Happy Gilmore's chaotic journey through the world of professional golf, with Kelce's cameo adding another layer of excitement to the already anticipated sequel.
