Slipknot's Sid Wilson Hospitalised After Bonfire 'Explosion'

Slipknot's turntablist, Sid Wilson, is recovering in hospital following a serious incident on his farm. The 47-year-old musician, who is married to Kelly Osbourne, took to Instagram to share details of the incident, which he described as a bonfire "explosion".

In a series of videos posted on Friday, 23rd August, Wilson explained that he sustained "serious burns" to his face and arms. Filmed from a hospital bed with an oxygen tube in place, the videos show medical staff treating his wounds and taking his vital signs.

"Hey everybody, I had an explosion in my face," Wilson said in one video. "I'm okay. I'm gonna be okay. But I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms."

He went on to describe the extent of his injuries, noting that his eyebrows and hair were singed, and that his mouth was blistered and his arms badly burned.

In a subsequent video posted a few hours later, Wilson could be seen being transported to another facility in an ambulance, explaining that they had better equipment to treat his burns. He detailed the severity of his lip burns and announced that he would be losing his long hair as doctors would be shaving his head as part of his treatment.

Despite his injuries, Wilson maintained a positive outlook, reassuring his fans that he was "okay" and "in good hands". He also explained that he sustained the burns not from a performance but from a bonfire on his farm which still had some "leftover" flames.

"I got a little whoosh — fire," he explained. "I was working on the farm at the time."

He remained determined to join his bandmates for upcoming shows, declaring that "this ain't gonna stop me" from performing at the band's sold-out shows in California on 13th and 14th September.

Slipknot also has concerts scheduled in Oklahoma, Washington and Indiana in the coming weeks. While the band's website has not yet addressed whether these performances will be rescheduled, Wilson's recovery will undoubtedly impact the band's immediate plans. Slipknot is currently scheduled to perform at the Rocklahoma event on 1st September.

The band's fans will be hoping for a speedy recovery for Wilson, who is known for his energetic stage presence and vital role in Slipknot's live performances.
