Slipknot's Sid Wilson Hospitalised After Bonfire Explosion

Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson has been hospitalised with burns across his body after an explosion involving a bonfire on his farm. The musician shared a video from his hospital bed on Instagram, detailing the incident and reassuring fans of his recovery.

"Hi everybody," Wilson said in the video. "I had an explosion in my face. I'm OK. I'm going to be OK, but I did have some serious burns to my face and arms."

Wilson, who was apparently getting X-rays at the time of filming, described the extent of his injuries. "I'm singed everywhere," he said. "My eyebrows are singed. My lips are blistered. My arms are pretty bad. Both of my arms. Still chilly."

Despite the discomfort evident in his video, Wilson remained positive. "I'm burned all the way around my arms," he told a nurse assisting him. "I'm going to be alright, you guys. I don't care what it takes. I'll see you on tour."

Slipknot also issued a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, confirming the incident and Wilson's recovery. "Our brother Sid Wilson was in an accident today and sustained burns across his body," the post read. "He's recovering with his family and will still join us on stage at Rocklahoma next weekend. He thanks everyone for the well wishes and will see you all soon."

In a subsequent video, Wilson acknowledged his error in judgement. "I will say, I do know better," he said. "So, everyone out there, be really safe when you're messing with fire. (It's) something I've dealt with tons of times. Of course, the one time I second guessed and go, 'Oh, I'll be alright..."

Despite the seriousness of the incident, Wilson's positive outlook and Slipknot's statement regarding his participation in the upcoming Rocklahoma festival suggest that the injury will not hinder his career. However, this incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers associated with fire and the importance of exercising caution when dealing with it.
