The Happy Mondays frontman has revealed his plans for a unique farewell, believing he has limited time left.
Shaun Ryder, the iconic frontman of Happy Mondays, has opened up about his heartbreaking funeral wish, believing he has "just 10 years to live." The revelation came after his participation in the new reality show *Celebrity Send Off,
which allows celebrities to plan their own funerals.
In an exclusive interview with *OK! Magazine*, the 62-year-old musician admitted that he hadn't even considered a will before shooting the show. "I don't know if I'd have a quiet one or a party. I've never even thought about having a funeral or dying!" he confessed.
Ryder's involvement in *Celebrity Send Off
prompted him to reflect on his mortality, particularly after battling heroin addiction in the past. He referenced his late brother and bandmate Paul, saying, "I've got 10 years left, maybe 15, so I should be thinking about it. My dad was dead by 74 and our kid is already dead. I've been to a few funerals lately."
The reality star, who has six children with his wife Joanne, has embraced the idea of planning his own farewell. "It seemed a bit macabre, a bit on the dark side, but me and Bez were up for it straight away. Although my kids and the missus thought it was a bit mad!" he said.
Ryder's final hurrah will be a unique UFO-themed funeral, a testament to his unconventional approach to life. He's clearly not afraid to embrace the unknown, even when it comes to facing his own mortality.
