Scots Dental Duo Strike Gold on BBC's "The Hit List"

Two dental nurses from Scotland, Holli and Rachael, triumphed on the BBC's popular music quiz show "The Hit List" on Saturday night, taking home a whopping £3,028.

The colleagues, hailing from Perth and Arbroath respectively, faced off against fellow contestants in a nail-biting competition hosted by the dynamic duo, Marvin and Rochelle Humes. The show, filmed in Glasgow, tests contestants' musical knowledge by challenging them to identify as many songs as possible within a set time limit.

"We like to play the music quiz on the radio while we're working together," said Holli, revealing her passion for music. "I quite like bands and things like that."

Her best friend, Rachael, shared her own musical tastes: "I'm more into Taylor Swift and girl bands, that sort of thing."

Despite their differing musical preferences, the duo's combined knowledge proved formidable, propelling them through the earlier rounds and into the final showdown.

The final round saw Holli and Rachael tested on a diverse range of artists, including Lily Allen, The Beautiful South, and Little Mix. They answered confidently and accurately, ultimately securing the top prize.

"We'd love to go to New York," said Rachael, brimming with excitement about their winnings. "We'd love to run the New York Marathon and we'd love to go and see Hamilton on Broadway."

Host Rochelle Humes expressed her delight, congratulating the duo with a warm "Good job girls!"

The win follows a recent revelation about Rochelle's own musical cravings during pregnancy. The mum-of-three confessed to a near-midnight search for a deep-fried Mars Bar, a classic Scottish takeaway treat, before the birth of her son, Blake.

"The Hit List" continues next Saturday on BBC 1, promising more musical challenges and exciting moments for viewers.

A Local Journalist's "Hit List" Experience

Jordan Tennant, a journalist for The Scottish Sun, recently had the opportunity to participate in the show.

"I was buzzing to take on The Hit List and get a musical grilling from Marvin and Rochelle," said Tennant. "I was overflowing with confidence, but reciting Engelbert Humperdinck’s 2012 Eurovision entry clearly wasn't my strong suit. I watch plenty of quiz shows, but the pressure of the studio lights and the iconic tunes proved overwhelming. It was a humbling experience, and I was glad to share a laugh with my pub quiz pals about my 15 minutes of fame."

Tennant's experience highlights the challenge and entertainment value of "The Hit List", which continues to be a popular choice for music lovers and quiz enthusiasts alike.
