Rylan Clark Admits to 'Marriage Trauma' Following Recent Wedding

This Morning presenter Rylan Clark has revealed that a recent wedding triggered feelings of "trauma" surrounding his past marriage to husband Dan Neal.

Speaking on BBC Radio 2's Rylan on Saturday show, Clark admitted to his close friend and singer Pixie Lott: "Honestly, I've got marriage trauma, but it made me want to get married again." The confession came after both attended the same wedding recently.

Before discussing Lott's new album, Clark shared a humorous anecdote about his antics at a past wedding. "I do need to ask you something, because there's a few things that I didn't know happened, that I did," he said. "Scott and Sam said 'do you remember you ended our wedding by doing a full three minute routine of Loreen's - Tattoo'."

Lott confirmed that Clark had "stole the show", but he admitted that he had no recollection of the event. "Apparently I took my top off," he added with a laugh.

Clark was engaged to Big Brother 14 housemate Dan Neal in September 2014 and the pair tied the knot the following year on 7 November 2015. However, their marriage ended in divorce on 27 June 2021.

In 2022, Clark spoke candidly about the impact of the divorce on his physical health during an appearance on Fearne Cotton's Happy Place podcast. "My body did completely shut down. I wouldn't eat. I went through a stage where I couldn't even talk," he revealed. "My speech was just slurred. My mum thought I was having a stroke. My body just went. I went down to nine stone and I am 6 foot 4."

Clark shot to fame in 2012 with his performances on X Factor, reaching the quarter-final before appearing on the 11th series of Celebrity Big Brother early the following year. Since then, his career has flourished with numerous presenting roles, including on This Morning and The One Show, as well as a host of other projects.

Despite his "marriage trauma", Clark's openness about his experience highlights his resilience and continues to resonate with his loyal fanbase.
