The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who have been enjoying a summer break since mid-July, are gearing up for a return to their royal duties. Prince William is set to resume his work schedule on Friday, 5th September, while the couple plans to catch some of the action at the 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics.
In a personal message posted on their social media accounts, William and Kate expressed their excitement for the upcoming sporting events. "Looking forward to another few weeks of incredible sport!" they wrote, signing the message 'W and C'. "Wishing the very best of luck to our @ParalympicsGB athletes and all those competing at #Paris2024."
Although the recent Olympic and Paralympic Games were held across the Channel in France, the Duke and Duchess did not make an official visit to cheer on Team GB during the Olympic events. Instead, the royals were represented by Princess Anne, a former Olympian and member of the International Olympic Committee, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, a patron of British Cycling.
While the Olympics drew to a close earlier this month, William and Kate joined in the celebrations, appearing in a video alongside Snoop Dogg and David Beckham to congratulate Team GB on their successes.
Over the weekend, the couple was spotted attending church at Crathie Kirk, the parish church closest to Balmoral Castle, where the family is currently spending time with King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
However, William's return to royal duties next week will see him attending an event for "Homelessness: Reframed", an art exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery organised by his charity, Homewards.
The royal family will be represented at the Paralympic Games by Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, who has been a patron of the British Paralympic Association since 2003. In a statement released on Thursday, the Duke extended his best wishes to Team GB, saying: âTo all members of the Paralympics GB team heading for Paris, whether athletes, officials or staff, I want to wish you the very best of luck at the Paralympic Games." He added, "Particular congratulations to all athletes on being selected: you now have the chance to compete against the very best in the world and, indeed, to win. More importantly, we want you to go out there to achieve your best, to make us proud and to inspire the next generation."
As the summer draws to a close, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are preparing to resume their busy schedules, balancing royal duties with their family commitments and supporting various charities close to their hearts.
