Riddle and Reigns: From Feud to Respect in the WWE Ring
Former WWE star Matt Riddle has shed light on his current relationship with Roman Reigns, following a period of tension between the two.
Back in 2021, Riddle sparked controversy when he declared in an interview that he could defeat Reigns in a real fight. He also took issue with Reigns' self-proclaimed status as "the needle mover" â a reference to his segments consistently generating high ratings.
While Riddle's comments may have been somewhat exaggerated, given the ongoing feud between his faction, RK-Bro, and Reigns' The Bloodline, the Tribal Chief was not amused. The two were kept apart for a significant period before eventually facing off in a storyline during 2022. This separation was highlighted by former WWE host Matt Camp on his podcast, recalling a time when Riddle was in the studio while Reigns appeared via satellite despite being on the same show.
In a recent interview with Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, Riddle explained that Reigns came to better understand the situation when they finally collaborated in the ring. He emphasised that there is no lingering animosity between them:
> "I think when he saw how professional I am in the ring and I also explained why things were said, and I wasnât just trying to call you out. I know my place in WWE, but when someone tells me to cut a promo on you, Iâm gonna cut a promo on you. I think he understood that. Still wasnât happy about it, but understood. Me and Roman, weâre good.â
Despite their past differences, Riddle seems to have earned Reigns' respect. This shift in their relationship is a testament to their professionalism within the WWE universe.
Reigns' Future on SmackDown
Following his return to TV at SummerSlam, where he attacked Solo Sikoa and reasserted his leadership of The Bloodline, Roman Reigns has made regular appearances on SmackDown. However, there is speculation that he might be absent from a significant upcoming episode.
While Reigns' exact schedule remains unclear, the potential for his absence from a key SmackDown taping adds another layer of intrigue to the current WWE landscape.
