Ricochet's AEW Arrival: Former WWE Star Finds New Home, Hall of Famer Approves

The WWE is often seen as the pinnacle of professional wrestling, but its rigid structure can limit the potential of even the most talented performers. This is why many fan favourites have sought new horizons in other promotions, with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) becoming a popular destination for those seeking creative freedom.

AEW has provided a platform for former WWE stars like Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Swerve Strickland to showcase their abilities and create iconic matches that will be remembered for years to come. After AEW All-In 2024, Ricochet's name can now be added to that esteemed list.

Ricochet, renowned for his high-flying aerial assaults, has consistently demonstrated charisma and exceptional athleticism throughout his career. However, despite holding titles like the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the WWE United States Championship, and the NXT North American Championship, he never truly reached his full potential within the WWE.

Following his release from his WWE contract, Ricochet has found a new home in AEW, a move that has been met with approval from legendary wrestler Booker T. In his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T expressed his enthusiasm for Ricochet's transition to AEW, stating, "I'm glad to see Ricochet have a soft landing. The kid can work, man. He's definitely an extraordinary talent, definitely a next-level talent. I just feel like he fits a whole lot better in the AEW system better than the WWE system."

Booker T believes that AEW provides the creative freedom Ricochet needs to truly shine, stating, "I think for Ricochet to be able to have some of the outrageous matches that he possibly can have, that means going out there and just letting it hang out. That means you ask the boss, 'What do you want me to do tonight?' and the boss says, 'Whatever you guys want to do.'"

The excitement surrounding Ricochet's arrival in AEW is shared by fellow AEW stars, including former AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin. In an interview with Metro UK, Allin expressed his eagerness to face off against Ricochet, stating, "I'd like to wrestle with anybody that has a point to prove. So, yeah, if he has a point to prove, he's got that chip on his shoulder, let's do it."

Ricochet's potential opponents in AEW are numerous, with the likes of Will Ospreay, Sammy Guevara, and Orange Cassidy all vying for a chance to step into the ring with the high-flying sensation. The future looks bright for Ricochet in AEW, where he has the opportunity to showcase his talents and create truly unforgettable moments in the squared circle.
