Reese Witherspoon & Son Deacon Enjoy Preppy Sunday Outing Amidst Romance Rumours
Reese Witherspoon, the beloved actress, was spotted enjoying a casual Sunday outing with her son Deacon in Los Angeles. The 48-year-old star, known for her frequent appearances with her children, looked relaxed and cheerful as she stepped out of her car, greeting her 20-year-old son with a warm smile.
Witherspoon sported a breezy white blouse paired with black shorts, completing the look with sandals and a cap for a touch of shade against the summer sun. Her signature blonde tresses cascaded down her shoulders, and she accessorised with several necklaces, a watch, and dark sunglasses.
Deacon, her son with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, mirrored his mother's preppy style with a striped button-up shirt and shorts, also opting for comfortable sandals. The mother-son duo appeared to be enjoying some quality time together as they navigated the Californian heat.
Witherspoon, a mother of three, also shares daughter Ava (24) with Phillippe, and son Tennessee (11) with her second ex-husband, Jim Toth, a former talent agent. The actress separated from Toth last year.
This outing comes amidst rumours of a budding romance between Witherspoon and German private equity financier Olivier Haarmann (56). The pair were spotted together in New York City earlier this month, and DailyMail.com exclusively reported they had been on several dates prior.
However, a source close to Witherspoon revealed that the actress is taking things slow when it comes to dating, emphasising that she and Haarmann are "friends". "She enjoys it but doesn't want it to be a big focus. She's busy with work and her son. These are her biggest priorities," the source told People magazine.
Haarmann, a founding partner of the investment firm Searchlight Capital Partners, previously held a senior position at KKR & Co. He has two children with his ex-wife Mala Gaonkar, who is now in a relationship with Talking Heads frontman David Byrne.
Witherspoon and Phillippe tied the knot in 1999, just three months after their teen drama "Cruel Intentions" was released. The couple welcomed Ava in 1999 and Deacon in 2003, before divorcing in 2008.
Despite their separation, Witherspoon and Phillippe remain amicable co-parents to their two children. The actress later married Jim Toth in 2011, and they welcomed their son Tennessee in 2012.
Witherspoon is currently juggling a busy career with motherhood. A third season of her hit HBO series "Big Little Lies" is in the works, along with a third installment of the popular "Legally Blonde" franchise. The actress's focus remains on her children and her work, but she's also exploring the possibility of a new romance, at her own pace.
